Rube Goldberg and Simple Machines

Rube Goldberg 

Rueben Goldberg was born on July 4th 1883 in San Francisco . In 1900 he graduated from Lawrence High School. In 1907 he moved to New York and worked for several newspapers. He married Irma Seeman in 1916 and had two children, Thomas and George. On his “Rube Goldberg Machine” work, he would spend over 30 hours on each piece with close attention to precision regarding the lines and details.
His cartoon strips were popular but the work that gave him unforgettable lifelong fame was the character he created, Professor Lucifer Gorgonzola Butts.
